Face to face and online Facilitation

Facilitation skills are a core competence for professionals working in international development. They are required to conduct effective workshops and meetings, to coach partners and to accompany change and development processes in organisations and in communities. Facilitation of interaction between dispersed actors over the internet becomes increasingly important.

We offer on the one hand facilitation, coaching and process accompaniment services, and on the other hand capacity development and training to build the necessary skills and competences.

Competences

Training for facilitators/moderators
We regularly conduct training courses for facilitators in German and French in Switzerland (click here for next dates). On request the training can be conducted in English, French and Spanish in any other location. Where none of these languages is spoken, interpreters can be used. In recent years we conducted facilitation trainings e.g. in Albania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Nicaragua, Niger and Mali. Here you find a detailed service offer and a standard program.

Design and facilitation of workshops and other events
We have long experience as facilitators of workshops, trainings and similar events. In such assignments we like to take a substantial role from the very beginning in conceptualisation and design of the event together with the clients. Take a look at the www.daretoshare.ch to get an idea on what is possible.

Facilitation of web-based interaction
We facilitate internet-based Communities of Practice and other discussions. Recently we have been involved in facilitating two web-based discussion platforms for SDC: Skill Development in Rural Areas, Value Chains in Rural Development, and are involved in the IFAD-funded First Mile Project where web-based interaction serves to learn how to enhance linkages between producers and the market.

Online Training in E-Facilitation - successfully mastering e-communication and collaboration.
We offer two hands-on trainings in e-facilitation for development professionals or other persons in charge of facilitating e-discussions, web-based experience exchange and online collaboration. The trainings take place entirely online. Whilst one training focuses more on the skills to plan and set-up online communication and collaboration processes, the other focuses more on the actual skills to facilitate online discussions in chat-rooms, discussion forums and conferemce rooms. The training platform used is Agridea Moodle.
