Supply chain management

Producers and their organisations are looking for a better valorisation of their products, through a strategy of market differentiation (labelling) and/or through an enhanced control of the supply chain steps (added value at different levels: production, transformation and marketing). Many original projects and initiatives regarding commercialisation, regional, quality or origin related differentiation are undertaken by producers or others market actors. The importance of the local food supply chain for rural development is increasing constantly.

AGRIDEA has developed a large range of expertises and competences in these fields. AGRIDEA put its knowledge at the disposal of supply chain enterprises and their organisations (producers, processors, distributors) concerned by local or GI products, with the constant objective of achieving an equitable added value repartition.

ACTIVITIES

  • Collective organisation

We help and push forward gathered operators to organise themselves in professional organisation  around a product or a specific production. We give advice for market prospecting, promotion campaigns and marketing highlight of the GI product. We provide studies on collective organisation possibilities, given the local/national economical, institutional and juridical context.

  • Innovation

We provide connections with the relevant academic and scientific institutions and universities so as to evaluate the transferability of the geographical indication tool and concept. We propose advice and feasibility study for the management of rural value chains and the improvement of their link to markets on the basis of local products valorisation.

  • Economics / added-value distribution/ commercialisation

We propose a theoretical and methodological framework for the evaluation of rural development projects and innovations. One of the main aspect of this framework is to build indicators to measure the return of the generated added-value in its originating territory, the effects on local growth and income distribution, environment and culture.
